Good leadership is essential for any team to achieve success in its own right. For sales and account managers, hitting targets is often a stressful affair, but learning how to manage your team in an effective way will help alleviate the stress and achieve stellar results.
Structured in a mixture of lecture style presentations, role-plays and interactive Q & A sessions, this unit focuses on developing and managing a sales team to exceed sales targets. It covers the process of planning, developing and implementing a sales strategy and budget. It also covers the process of developing objectives and actions for the sales of products; assessing the existing tools; hiring, orientation, coaching and assessing the team. The unit aims to provide support to the sales team by adjusting targets or budget based on team performance, market direction and trends.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Plan, develop and implement sales budget, by predicting anticipated sales per territory; as well as review of previous year’s sales
- Develop objectives and actions for the sales of products, through collaboration, review and evaluation of sales budgets, targets, and assessment of the market and customer
- Identify and assess existing sales support tools to determine the methods used to prospect with these tools
- Create the sales team through, identification of appropriate skill set, hiring of the inpidual members and orientation (on-boarding) of new members to enable them to perform within the sales role as required to meet their sales targets
- Support sale team through consistent coaching, feedback, mentoring; as well as address performance gaps and help resolve issues
