Course details
Master the processes for achieving high-quality sound recording, editing, mixing and postproduction operations and practice for video and film productions alike. The skills include assessing the characteristics of each sound source, including stereo and multi-channel sources, identifying and explaining creative possibilities for achieving the sound balance; identifying options for meeting artistic, technical and production requirements, and agreeing upon options for optimising simultaneous balance; synchronising when different types of camera formats are used when recording sync sound; understanding how synchronisation works, and how to maintain long term synchronisation; developing and maintaining detailed records and explaining technical issues to others.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Analyse the characteristics of each inpidual sound source and note the nuances to create sound balance, to meet the needs of the production
- Identify suitable options to optimize sound balance that meet the artistic, technical and production requirements
- Synchronize sound and picture, from different types of camera formats, to meet the needs of the production
- Maintain detailed records and a copy of the original video footage to ensure fully compliant synchronization throughout the entire production
- Master and delivery of final mix to meet the specified technical requirements of the production
