Course details
This training provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in footwear cost computations that are widely used in the footwear industry. Participants will learn how to identify all the required materials; provide descriptions and consolidate all technical specifications into a technical specification sheet. They will compute the costs of the given shoes taking into consideration fixed and variable costs components. They will also compute raw material consumptions, components, labour costs and overhead costs which may differ, subject to factors such as production automation level and cost of labour in different countries.
OBJECTIVES
- Identify types of materials and components required for footwear based on industry norms
- Create technical package for the footwear based on gathered materials and component specifications, designs, sketches with specifications and size specs
- Identify various factors affecting footwear costs
- Calculate final footwear costs based on organization guidelines and procedures
- Analyze and propose alternatives to reduce footwear costs
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Preferably possess 3 GCE ‘O’ level qualification with passes in English and Math or ESS WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
