Course details
This training provides an overview of the various stages and techniques of the footwear pattern making process for basic ladies’ shoes and men’s classic shoes. Participants will learn patterns development using a last which involves the consideration of location points, sizes and measurements of the inside and outside forme. They will also get to see the different techniques of making a mean forme, create sectional, net and lining patterns.
OBJECTIVES
- Prepare the last for pattern making through masking for basic men’s and ladies’ shoe types according to industry norms
- Mark critical points and sketch out the design on the last and according to design specifications
- Remove the masking from the last and flatten it on the pattern drafting paper
- Identify the difference for the inside part of the last according to design specifications
- Create sectional frame to build design with specific propositions
- Make amendments if needed according to design specifications
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Preferably possess 3 GCE ‘O’ Level qualification with passes in English and Math or ESS WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
