Course details
This course will lead the engineers and factories management through the industrial engineering functions with respect to the activities involved in capacity assessment studies, benchmarking, modeling, unit cost drivers, applying the simultaneous engineering approach for lead time and cost reduction, feasibility and value-added analysis, and setting up core values driven by costing formula for monitoring.
In addition, the participant will be given a fresh approach regarding proper methods to apply effectively for process razing and operations scanning and improving successfully within the garment factories. This course is delivered through lectures, video simulations and hands-on activities
OBJECTIVES
- Determine the Industrial Engineering structure within garment manufacturing environment according to organisational needs.
- Apply Motion-Time Study and work measurement for process improvement according to organisational KPI.
- Identify the different cost drivers and their effects on different cost methods according to organisational needs.
- Apply pre-determined time system to work processes in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Identify the unproductive cost element and its effect on total cycle time according to organisational procedures.
- Determine the most economical method in setting up operation breakdown according to organisational procedures.
- Analyse and compare various production setups in relation with order categories according to organisational procedures.
- Use of key performance indicators to monitor performance and take corrective action for any deviations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners
