Course details

WSQ Advanced Certificate will be conducted in the form of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, case studies, practical exercises, role plays and hands-on activities. Participants will complete 6 module as follows:

WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns through Drafting and Sew Basic Tops and Skirt

• Introduction to sewing tools and equipment
• Explanation and demonstration to basic drafting techniques
• Applied basic sewing techniques using machines and manually create top and skirt

WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns through Drafting and Sew Basic Bottoms and Tops with Variation of Collars

• Human shapes, variations and different types of pattern
• Basic pattern block development
• Learn to sew with variety of seams and finishes
• Built-in fabric retraction and shrinkage into stock production pattern

WSQ Draw Digital Images

• Introduction to Adobe Illustrator (A.I)
• Explanation to the features and functionalities of A.I
• Interfaces the Adobe Photoshop with A.I for use in editing fashion design and presentation

WSQ Apply Teamwork in the Workplace

• Internalise importance of teamwork
• Engage in active participation in team establishments
• Improve team performance using tools such as Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycle, survey incentives and rewards

WSQ Apply 5S Techniques

• Maintain self discipline at work
• Organise work area

WSQ Apply Quality System

• Effectively plan daily work, maintain and improve work quality

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

• Possess at least 3 GCE “N” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above.
