Course contents:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities under the Workplace Safety and Health Act
- Identify and prevent fire and explosion hazards at the workplace
- Comply with safe work practices and control measures for material handling
- Comply with safe work practices and control measures for mechanical and electrical works
- Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working on specialized operations
- Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working at Heights
- Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working in a confined space.
Entry Requirements
Assumed Skills & Knowledge:
Learners are assumed to:
- Have basic knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Know how to use basic PPE provided at workplace
- Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
- Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2.
