Course details
The balance between work and personal lives is drastically getting out of hand for many people, all over the world and especially for women employees in Bahrain. In Bahrain the Government is putting its best efforts to ensure more and more Bahrainis get into jobs and improve the Bahrain’s economy. As a result more and more Bahraini Ladies are getting to work, managing even complex portfolios.
There are several reasons for this, and many of them point to the current economic situation. People get into jobs to support themselves and to support their families. But today’s business demands qualitative deliveries and efficient execution of responsibilities. Besides, as the markets are expanding and be business being becoming to Customer centric, work loads are also increasing. This pressured work environment causes personal stress, more and more work v/s. life challenges.
In a recent survey, majority of working employees (68%) said that the work-life situation of people in business was either somewhat or extremely unbalanced. The pursuit of a better work-life balance is a major issue for several working people around the world, and especially in Bahrain. It calls for flexible hours, affordable childcare and several adjustments at work and in personal life. More than ever before, the work-life balance is demanding choice in our working lives.
Contrary to some expectations, majority of educated and professionally qualified people do actually enjoy their jobs. Majority of them find their work enjoyable and fulfilling, yet quite a large number of people also say that they also find it hard to cope with the pressure.
As a consequence, it is found that majority of working people complain that pressure of work gives them headaches or migraines, back ache, sleeplessness and they become highly short tempered and irritable at home. This has resulted in several people resorting to abnormal coping up mechanisms.
That is why work-life balance is a serious issue for not only the people themselves but also for Employers, the government and the NGO’s. They are all showing concern towards identifying the issue, but actually a lot more needs to be done in order to sort out the issue.
