Course details

The purpose of this module is to equip the learner with the knowledge skills and competence to participate in the workplace, for a limited time, carrying out work related tasks independently while under general direction.

Learners undertaking Placement or Practice modes of work experience must work the equivalent. A minimum of must be completed in the placement or practice situation.

The remaining may be made up of current relevant work.

Programme Aim:

At the end of the course the learner will be able to;

• Examine work organisations and personal career opportunities in a particular vocational area, to include consideration of work related issued and needs.
• Analyse key challenges and opportunities facing a particular vocational area.
• Summarise the basic rights and responsibilities of employees and employers in a particular work, organizational or institutional context, to include health, safety and welfare at work, equality legislation, union representation and regulations relating to pay.

Entry Requirement

Minimum of Level 4 certificate standard of education. Strong interest in the provision of quality care in a healthcare setting. Competency in written and spoken English.
