In this course, you will learn how to take a standard WordPress site and turn it into something of value. It brings together parts from different areas to create a much more secure and professional site.
You will see my site in action, as I show you many tips and tricks to get your site doing so much better than before.
WordPress has become a major player in developing websites. Be proud of a professional-looking site and be the envy of your competitors. Most sites created in WordPress don't have a professional feel and are all very similar. My goal is to change that for you and get you higher up to the top-level.
There are two major sections with many sub parts within those. At the end of the course you can find an info pack (pdf) with all links mentioned in this course. It is sectioned up to match the progress through the course.
1. The Basics /Overview
SEO is a great feature, and once you apply it. It becomes a really simple process in your future editing. You just need to be careful of what to do and not to do.
2. Advanced Mastery
This is the main section that this course focuses on. In here you can see elements that then can take a basic site and improve it so much more. I will show you a live site so you can see the settings that I have used.
Plugins:
Get your hands on the best plugins for improving your experience. These cover general improvements and add some powerful features.
Security:
Be ready when someone hacks your site, or when you break it by accident. You will learn many tricks and little gems to get your site running better than before.
Optimization:
Thinking only about SEO is not enough, so here you can learn more about how to care and grow your site. Also I will mention how t0 improve the speed of your site.
You will need some basic experience of WordPress to know about posts, and so from there I will show more about the settings to improve. If you don't have that much experience, then you can still get many useful tips on how to make your site grow. You will even get your hands dirty with a step by step guide on basic HTML (For use in Widgets).
