Course details
The aim of this course is to introduce palliative care professionals and those interested in the use of the arts in a health care setting to the profession of art therapy and its use in palliative care We will present and discuss case studies of the use of art therapy with palliative care patients. There will also be an experiential workshop where participants can explore using art materials to create their own piece and reflect in a group setting.

- Art therapy, Palliative care and Psychological support
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the distinction between art therapy and art activity
- Appreciate the value of art as an additional channel of communication
- Increased ability to identify appropriate referrals and to introduce the idea of art therapy to patients
