    In Wilton Course 1 you’ll understand how to bake a great cake (instructor will only teach it verbally) and learn the best way to ice the cake. You’ll learn to create icing drop flowers, rosettes, shells, pompom flowers, leaves, shaggy mums, and the ribbon rose. You’ll also decorate cookies, cupcakes … and of course, cakes! The Wilton Method® Decorating Basics Course is the perfect place to start! Your Instructor will show you the right way to decorate, step by step, so that you experience the excitement of successfully decorating your first cake.

    You’ll understand how to bake a great cake (instructor will only teach it verbally), see how to make and color icing and learn the best way to ice the cake. You will also practice the three fundamentals of decorating, enabling you to approach each technique the right way for great results.

    Along the way, you’ll learn to create icing drop flowers, rosettes, shells, pompom flowers, leaves, shaggy mums, and the ribbon rose. You’ll also decorate cookies, cupcakes … and of course cakes!

    Not only will you quickly learn just how easy it is to create the perfect dessert for any occasion but you will also get to share the fun with other students, who encourage you along the way.

    In this class based on students' feedback, we have decided to help take the stress out of having to prep for the icings and cakes. Just add an additional $70 and daily the required icings, cakes, dummy and cupcakes will be given to you. Rest assured though that you will still see the actual demo of how to make your icings on day one. After all, this is a decorating class and knowing how to make your icing is of utmost important.

    However, we understand that some students may have time and still would like to do their own cakes and icings from home, so the add-on is optional. You can still just choose to go for the basic package where only the book and kit are provided, and daily you will be informed of the portions of cakes and icings to bring from home.
