    Course details

    This course is designed to meet the requirements of the accrediting body IADC and is offered with either Surface or Combined BOP certification. Well Control course can be adapted for either Fundamental or Supervisory Levels. Delegates will sit a practical assessment using a drilling simulator and two closed book examinations leading to the required certificate of competence in well control - valid for two years.

    At the end of this course, delegates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with and understanding of the following in preparation for IADC WellCAP Well Control testing:

    • Causes of kicks
    • Kick Detection
    • Pressure Concepts and Calculations
    • Procedures
    • Gas Characteristics and Behaviour
    • Fluids
    • Constant Bottomhole Pressure Well Control Methods
    • Well Control Equipment
