This innovative program will give you Intermediate VCAL plus partial Certificate II Hair and Certificate II Make Up certificates will be delivered in our state of the art facilities in Box Hill, giving you an introduction that provides you with the skills to begin work in the Hair and Beauty industries.
On successful completion of this program learners are eligible for the award of Intermediate VCAL and units from SIH20111 Certificate II in Hairdressing and SIB20110 Certificate II in Retail Make-up and Skin Care.
This VCAL program combines the skills of both professions into one course. In hairdressing, you will learn about hair care and styling, giving head and shoulder massages, preparing clients for salon services. For Beauty, you learn a range of skills including how to apply day, evening and photographic make-up.
The VCAL units of literacy, numeracy, personal development and work skills will be integrated into the learners’ training. Special focus is on Engagement – with Self and Community and Work-Ready Skilling.
Trades-related projects through service learning have included preparing models for fashion parades, fundraising and intergenerational programs. Practical Placements are also embedded into the program.
