Course details
The VCAL Creative Taster program is a course for those interested in career paths in the Creative Industries. Students learn and apply the fundamentals of design across a sample of creative industries including photography, graphic design and fashion. The program is very practical in approach and students apply their developing skills.
The Creative Industries components will be delivered one day a week at Box Hill and the core VCAL components will be delivered at CAE in the heartbeat of trendy Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
The VCAL units of literacy, numeracy, personal development and work skills will be integrated into the learners’ training. Special focus is on Engagement – with Self and Community and Work-Ready Skilling. This incorporates working excursions to various sites around metropolitan Melbourne and the CBD.
Industry-related projects through service learning have included participation in Flash Mob projects and photographic exhibitions. Practical Placements are also embedded into the program.
On successful completion of this program learners are eligible for the award of Intermediate VCAL and units from various Creative Industries training packages.
