Course details
This course is designed for parents with questions about childhood immunizations. This lecture is presented in a research-based, unbiased format so that parents, educators and physicians may make their own conclusions based solely on fact and research. This class covers many popular misconceptions regarding vaccines.
This course includes all the latest research regarding vaccines, vaccine adverse events and immunology. Written and recorded by Dr. Erika Krumbeck, naturopathic physician who specializes in pediatrics and vaccine safety. Also included is an e-book workbook filled with the data included in the lecture and a blank vaccine worksheet.
This course is approximately 2 hours in 11 sections. Each subsection includes a discussion of each individual vaccine and disease the vaccine is designed to prevent. For each vaccine there is a discussion of 1) epidemiology (the actual likelihood of getting the disease) and how it is transmitted, 2) what ingredients are in the vaccine and which of these ingredients are controversial, 3) what age is appropriate to give the vaccine, 4) common adverse events, 5) considerations in delaying or declining the vaccine.
In between subsections there is also a discussion of the following topics:
- Thimerosal: what is it, which vaccines contain thimerosal, is it associated with MMR? Is it associated with Autism?
- Abortion: are vaccines associated with abortion? What are the considerations for pro-life parents?
- What is VAERS? How do parents and doctors report a reaction to VAERS?
- Which vaccine is associated with higher rates of asthma, allergies and eczema? Why is timing important for this vaccine?
- What are vaccine adjuvants? Why is there a concern about aluminum exposure with multiple vaccines?
- Can I breastfeed my baby instead of vaccinating?
- Can I use homeopathic nosodes instead of vaccinating?
- What is the difference between the oral and inactivated (injected) polio vaccine? Why does this matter for herd immunity in the United States?
- Is there an association between vaccines and autism? What is going on in the biochemistry of an autistic child?
- What can I expect if I decide not to vaccinate my child?
- What combination vaccine is associated with increased risk of febrile seizures?
- What can I do to decrease the risk of vaccine reactions?
