A well-functioning and easily to use user interface is an important element of any application or website. Ensuring this is achieved early during the design process and throughout development is crucial for any industry-ready piece of software.

This course focuses on the design principles to develop great user experiences for software users. This module is aimed at students who are interested in the design process of user interfaces. No prior knowledge of software development is needed for this course.

Programme Aims and Objectives

This course aims at providing the learner with an understanding of user interface design. Once this course is completed the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the user base that will be interacting with a piece of software
  • Identify the needs of the users
  • Design a user interface
  • Develop a user interface design that can run under the different environment constraints
  • Perform automatic and manual user interface testing
