Topic areas: 1. Learn Cyrillic alphabet, reading and writing.2. Ask and give basic directions in Russian.
3. Understand the Russian name system and recognise some common Russian names.
4. Introduce yourself to someone and give some basic information about your family.
5. Talk about what you were doing in the past and where.
6. Ask someone else about their habits, what they do, where they live, where they work etc.
7. Ask for what you want in a shop, order a meal in a restaurant.
8. Say what do you like doing in your leisure time.
9. Tell the time in Russian in whole hours.
Main Grammar Points:
• Recognise the gender of nouns: masculine, feminine and neuter • The basic rules of the past tense.
• The use of the Genitive case of nouns
• The Prepositional case. The preposition "o" that takes the prepositional case
• Adjectives in the nominative case.
• The Accusative case.
• Conjugation of verbs in the past tense according the gender of pronouns and nouns.
