Course details
Our Academic English courses are three or six month courses of intensive academic English language study, which prepare international students, whose first language is not English, for academic study at undergraduate and postgraduate level at a UK or Irish university.
The course incorporates English language skills, academic study skills and, at higher levels, specific undergraduate research skills – all that is needed for successful university study at undergraduate level. This course also includes IELTS exam preparation classes
You can enrol on the six-month Academic English course in March or the three-month course in June. This flexibility caters for students with different language levels.
Course content
Our courses will enable you to improve your language level in addition to developing your ability and confidence in a variety of skills that are essential for undergraduate or postgraduate study. These include team work, problem solving, critical thinking, time management, and as your level increases, research projects, research methods and quantitative and qualitative data analysis. On successful completion of this course, students should not only achieve the required grade in the IELTS exam but also be fully prepared to commence their study at university in Ireland and the UK.
