Universal Control Network/High Performance Process Manager Maintenance

Course details

This Global User Station (GUS) -based course provides skills for maintaining the Universal Control Network (UCN), High Performance Process Manager (HPM/ APM/PM), and Network Interface Module (NIM) hardware components. Lab exercises give students hands-on experience in troubleshooting UCN components using hardware indicators and on-line system status displays.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, participants will be able to increase their troubleshooting skills, identify problems with the UCN nodes more effectively and efficiently. Participants will also learn preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Identify UCN and HPM/APM/PM components
• Identify UCN and HPM/APM/PM failures
• Troubleshoot the UCN and HPM/APM/PM using status displays and error indicators
• Develop correct troubleshooting techniques

TotalPlant Solution System (TPS) customers:

• Who are already familiar with GUS and LCN maintenance
• Involved in the maintenance and repair of the UCN and HPM/APM/PM.
• Requiring a better understanding of how to maintain and troubleshoot UCN and HPM/APM/PM hardware components 

PRE-REQUISITES

Field maintenance experience in the process control industry.
