Healthcare professionals in Singapore are likely to encounter among their patients, people from all over the globe. However, if a patient, because of a cultural “disconnect”, cannot understand their health care treatment or if information is delivered in a way that inadvertently frightens or offends the patient, how can healthcare providers fulfill their mission of effective patient care?
This course offers healthcare professionals the information they need to successfully communicate with their patients, while also respecting their specific cultural needs and expectations related to healthcare. It offers easy-to use information about the healthcare needs, expectations, and perceptions of the different ethnicities and races.
