This workshop is designed to prepare students and professionals who are planning to venture into the vast China market. It also provides a better understanding of cultural differences between China and Singapore, and prepares participants for easier assimilation into China's social and cultural landscape.

Course Outline
Day 1
- Geographic overview of China and its regional differences Recent China history, the legacy of the Cultural Revolution and China's next leap forward
- Relationship between the Central Government and local district governments
- Government economic policies and implications to the man in the street
- The different strata of Chinese society and the growing middle- class
- Socio-economic issues faced by China and her people today
Day 2
- Assimilation into Chinese culture, and adjusting to life in China Understanding China "officialdom", and dealing with Chinese government officials
- The Chinese business environment and understanding the 'Lao Ban' culture
- Doing business with the mainland Chinese Resources for the expatriates in China - business networking, making friends, building a support base, action groups, consumer services, etc
- Role-play section where participants get to practice elements of Chinese etiquette and negotiation
Award
Participants who have attained at least 75% attendance will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance by the Institute.
