Course details
The Airport Engineering is a unique programme designed for engineers to attain an internationally recognised professional qualification, with both academic and practical knowledge of airport engineering. The courses taught through a combination of classroom lectures, projects, workshops and site visits to Changi Airport and other facilities. This course is Module II of the UC Berkeley, ITS-SAA Airport Engineering Programme.
OBJECTIVES
The Airport Engineering programme is designed to provide an understanding of airport-related engineering responsibilities and airport development and maintenance requirements. The learning process includes a comprehensive coverage of topics on airport system and planning, airport design and construction, and maintenance of airport pavements and engineering-related elements. A review of issues relating to airport design and construction is also covered.
To facilitate application of knowledge, workshops, projects and case studies are integrated into the programme structure. Site visits are also built into the programme to allow participants to observe operations of airport equipment and airport engineering projects in progress.
