The MSc in Construction Management (CM) is designed to attract professionals and practitioners with experience in the construction industry who want to develop their skills and progress in their career to assume management positions in the industry. The programme aims to attract students from building, architecture, engineering (civil, structural, mechanical and electrical), surveying, and business management.
The aim of this programme of study is to provide the higher learning that would enable you to play a leading role in building a progressive and competitive construction industry. The term “Construction” includes construction professional services, embracing architecture, engineering and surveying. Professional services are a very important part of the industry and a growth area for the GCC. You may be working with a consultancy, professional service provider, contractor, developer, client or public client, or government department. This programme should also appeal to you if you are interested in obtaining a higher degree as a step towards a terminal degree (e.g. PhD)
The programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage organisations and activities in construction. The programme has a strong industry focus, assignments, tutorials, and case studies will require you to apply acquired knowledge on real life situation. In addition, academic staff with extensive industry experience and strong professional links, nationally and internationally will bring to the classroom case studies and examples to help in linking theory to practice.
