The MA program in Security and Strategic Studies offered at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) is a rigorous, interdisciplinary program. It seeks to identify and address the emerging security challenge, and intends to prepare its students for a variety of career in academic, research, IGO, NGO security and international affairs.

The MA in Security and Strategic Studies program is designed for: Professionals and academically qualified graduate with a B.A. degree in International Relations, Political Science, International Studies, Security and Strategic Studies, Social Science, Humanities or a closely related field. The BA or B.Sc. Degree could be from the American University in the Emirates or accredited other academic universities in the UAE, Gulf States or international institutions who seek advanced education in the Security and Strategic Studies.

The program aims;
The program's curriculum and standard are structures in a way to provide graduate student with a broad knowledge of social sciences and historical methodologies as well as direct logics relating to Strategic issues and international relations. Many students will already have a Bachelor Degree in Security and Strategic Studies from AUE, but this is not required; students with other relevant bachelor degree may also apply to the MA Program directly.

- English Proficiency Certificate (Students without IELTS / TOEFL qualifications may sit for IELTS / TOEFL test at AUE)
