Course Overview
This “hands-on” program professionally prepares participants for a career in the areas of documentary and narrative filmmaking, while giving them a solid grounding in film theory, history, business and criticism. Participants study all areas of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, producing, editing, cinematography, sound, acting, mise-en-scène, with the goal of producing their own short films as well serving as part of the crew on several others. Participation in clubs and events will provide participants, as emerging filmmakers, with the opportunities to meet and discuss filmmaking with more experienced practitioners and they will develop relationships to further their careers in the film industry.
