The Hazardous Materials Awareness course is designed for those personnel who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency. The student will gain the ability to recognise hazardous materials incidents, their effect on the body, the proper defensive actions, and how to call for trained personnel. Students will gain these knowledge and skills by being instructed:- How to recognize potential problems
- Take appropriate action to protect themselves and others
- Collect hazard information from the current edition of the Emergency Response Guidebook and visual clues
