Overview(new ISO/IEC 45001)
This course is based on ISO 45001 which outlines requirements for establishing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This Course will be beneficial for those who are interested in knowing the key differences between OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 45001. It will also help participants in transitioning from OHSAS 18001:2007 to the new version of standard ISO 45001.
Course Objectives
This course aims to provide participants with knowledge and skills necessary to carry out occupational Health and safety audits based on ISO 45001 and in accordance with ISO the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Differences and changes which arise in Occupational Health and Safety management system requirements due to the publishing of new version of standard ISO 45001
• Purpose, scope and overview of Annex SL Appendix 2
• Framework for generic management system requirements, New and revised terms and definitions
• The relationship between external, internal issues, requirements of interested parties and actions to address risk and opportunities
• Overview of the Context of the organization, leadership, planning, support and operation
• Planning, conducting, reporting and following up on the audit based on new requirements
• Auditing occupational health and safety management systems based on new OHS specific requirements
Skills
• Auditing Occupational Health and Safety Management System Requirements including verification of scope, context, leadership, planning, support, operations and improvement activities.
• Undertake the role of an Auditor to plan, perform, conduct, report and follow up an audit in accordance with ISO 19011 and through analysis of ISO 45001
• Understanding the changes between 18001 and 45001 Updated on 09 March, 2020
Eligibility / Requirements
Before starting this course, you must inform students that they are expected to have the following prior knowledge:
a) Knowledge of the following occupational health & safety management principles and concepts:
The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
The purpose and benefits of an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system
A basic knowledge of managing occupational health and safety (OH&S) through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control and compliance with legal and other requirements
A basic awareness of common examples of relevant national and local OH&S legislation and ;
Commonly used OH&S terms and definitions
