This TV Presenting & Film Production PLC course provides students with the advanced knowledge and skills to pursue careers in various areas of TV and Film production and presenting.
Students will explore all aspects of Film and Television giving them a knowledge of both behind and in front of the camera. Students will have the opportunity to explore and develop the art of TV Presenting, Interviewing, Autocue and Links to camera as well as Producing, Directing and Editing. Students will have access to professional camera and editing equipment and to assist them in producing a showreel.
Modules
- Broadcasting Presentation Skills - (6N5425): Students will acquire a range of skills required to present and develop a portfolio over the year to television programmes to a professional standard
- Documentary Production - (6N5451): Student are introduced to the fundamentals of Documentary film making. Building on this, students through a combination of theoretical and practical work will produce and direct a number of documentaries.
- Editing Practices and Techniques - (6N5427): Students acquire the practical skills, techniques and, styles of editing moving images. Students will work with Final Cut Pro X Edit suites and create a visual editing portfolio
- Event Production - (6N4800): This module is designed to broaden the learner's understanding of event management, contingency planning, budgeting, scheduling, evaluation, execution and event management documentation and specifically looks at quality assurance and evaluation in event management.
- Film & Digital Video - (6N5428): Students will learn a number of the key characteristics of film making including Production, Direction and Scriptwriting to name but a few. Each student will Produce and Direct a Short film as well as collaborate on larger scale productions
- Production Design for Film & TV - (L32221): Students are introduced to the role and functions of the Art Dept within the Film and TV production process. Students will learn visual and practical skills to creatively interpret, research, source, construct and acquire the elements necessary to visually communicate a script.
- TV & Video Reporting - (N32757): Students will learn the skills required to manage and produce television and video programmes

Entry Requirements
Suitable candidates must have obtained a relevant FETAC Level 5 Award or equivalent to be eligible for this course.
