Course details
This course is taught using a range of digital video cameras and Apple Mac computers. Students are taught a range of skills including scripting, storyboarding, camera skills and editing skills etc.
There is one group project in the whole course. Outside of this, students work on individual projects in which they are encouraged to produce videos on topics of interest to given brief.
The majority of this course is practical rather than theory based, which allows students to produce varied and substantial portfolios.
Entry requirements:Leaving Cert or equivalent. Mature students welcome.

Applications for all our courses will be available on the website and in the college from 1st week in January 2015 for all courses commencing in September 2015. This full level 5 Award facilities entry to the Multimedia and Film & TV Production Level 6 courses in Kinsale. It also facilities entry on a competitive basis to a range of third level colleges, for example: DIT Film & Broadcasting, LIT Higher Cert in Video & Sound Technology and IADT Film & TV production.

This department contains the most up to date hardware and software. Facilities include wireless Apple Macs, wide screen G5s, a range of digital video cameras, still cameras, scanners, sound recording equipment, music/soundtrack production equipment, colour and black & white laser printers and ink jet printers. We have a green screen animation room, in which students can produce stop-motion animations, with the option of mixing them with live video. 3D computer animations can also be produced using Cinema 4D. Software includes; Cinema 4D, Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Microsoft Office.
