Course details
The aim of the programme is to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to successfully manage a transport business or to operate as a Transport Manager in a transport company. The programme includes Certificate in Professional Competence in Transport Management, Occupational First Aid, Customer Service and International Trade Practice. Learners will also complete 10 weeks of work placement and gain valuable experience working in a transport company. There is currently a demand for persons to work as transport managers or supervisors and by completing this course learners will be well positioned to take up employment in a junior or middle management role in the transport industry. Applicants for this Momentum Programme must be unemployed for longer and be in receipt of Job seekers Allowance / Benefit or on the Live Register for longer. Eligibility must be confirmed by DSP Employment Services.

Requirements
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
- Junior/Inter certificate
- Spatial aptitude Good numerical and literacy skills Excellent command of the English language Ability to read and write and complete a written exam Candidates must pass a Basic English reading and Writing Test
- Experience working in the transport, distribution or logistics industry is an advantage but not a necessity. Having previous Bus/Truck Driving Experience is an advantage but not a necessity
