The aim of this Award is to equip learners with the skills needed to identify training needs and to design training suitable to today’s fast-paced, technological, changing commercial environments and to provide them with an understanding of the processes involved in training needs identification and design. The programme will enable learners to build on the knowledge and skills they may have acquired through education and work experience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the differences between training and education by reviewing theories of training and different approaches to training evaluation.
  • Attain an overview of what it means to be an effective trainer by understanding influencing factors such as the learning environment, the trainer, learning methodologies and group dynamics.
  • Discuss various aspects of equality, persity, and disability awareness legislation in order to recognise and implement support mechanisms for all learners.
  • Explain different levels of training evaluation which can take place both during and after training interventions such as reaction and satisfaction of learners to the training, actual learning ability to apply learning, impact on the business and return on investment of the training intervention.
  • Evaluate levels of training assessment and appropriate training intervention.
  • Review, analyse, choose, implement and demonstrate the design and delivery of a training intervention programme throughan understanding of learning methods and styles such as traditional.

Return on Investment (ROI) Certification & Diploma

The Fetac Level 6 Training and Development Special Purpose Award includes the Jack Phillips Certificate in Return on Investment (ROI). This is a foundation certificate and learners can continue with their studies to diploma level with the Jack Phillips Return on Investment Diploma. After successfully completing Minor Awards I & II, learners are deemed to have completed the Certificate in Return of Investment developed by Dr. Jack Phillips. In achieving these Awards, learners will have acquired the skills to develop and deliver effective return on investment (ROI) evaluations for learning and performance, organisational development, human resources, technology, change, and quality solutions.
