Course details
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to teach, train or instruct others in-company or in a classroom setting. Specifically the aims are to train and certify that candidates can:
- Understand different learning styles;
- Understand the functions and processes of learning and training;
- Evaluate different approaches to training;
- Appreciate the importance of training on an individual, social and economic level;
- Work effectively with a range of learner groups;
- Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes;
- Develop and implement appropriate assessment methods.

Assessment
- Candidates will be assessed by assignment and skills demonstration.
1. Assignment:
- Candidates will plan, research, conduct and evaluate an adult training session either in the form of a case study, action research or reflective
2. Skills Demonstration:
In two or more training demonstrations of 15-minutes duration, candidates will be assessed in the following skill areas;
- Presentation skills; Effective communication skills; Oral presentation skills;
- Use of learning materials;
- Specific learning outcomes identified and achieved;
- Use of visual aids, e.g., demonstrations, handouts, flip charts, OHP, data projector presentation, etc.
Entry Requirements
- Level 5 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification and/or relevant life and work experiences.
