Course details

This course is designed to equip participants with an essential kit of the practical training tools for analysis, preparation, and measurement: and the techniques for the delivery of training to individuals and small work groups in a workplace setting. A stage by stage model is used to achieve this outcome. Concepts are established and tools and techniques are introduced, and their transfer to each delegate's workplace is explored and discussed.

Target Audience

  • Those who are required to train, develop, mentor or coach others in essential job
  • Competencies in operational workplace setting.

Course Objectives

To provide those with little knowledge of this aspect of human resource development with an overview, of the complete process - from identifying training needs for individuals and groups, writing learning / instructional objectives, conducting effective training sessions, to validating a completed learning event

Programme Content

  • Identify and assess individual and work group training needs
  • Prioritize the most important competencies that must be achieved
  • Analyze tasks and procedures to identify skills and knowledge that must be learned to achieve key competencies
  • Write training aims and objectives.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate
    • one-to-one training /coaching briefing and de-briefing of an individuals training assignments
    • practical skill lessons for individual or small work group
    • short theory lessons for a small work group
  • Identifying approaches towards an evaluation of training

Assessment and Certification

  • Assessment is based upon attendance, group participation and class exercises.
  • Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded the " BTI Train the Trainer Certificate ".
