Course details
This programme has been designed to enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a tractor in compliance with all the recommended standards including the European Union (EU) and Irish Legislations along with the good faming practices. On completion Participants will be able to understand all the health and safety issues surrounding tractor operation while being able to carry out routine pre-starting checks correctly, will be able to drive a tractor and effectively operated all associated equipment including trailed equipment, three point linkage and front loaders. Please note that on order to complete this programme you will be required to complete 220 hour work experience on a tractor, all learning outcomes will need to meet within a farm setting, failure to do so will result in a failure of award.

Specific Entry/Access and Exemptions Requirements
- A learner seeking entry to a programme leading to awards at level 5 does not need a previous formal qualification. HCT would highly recommend that that learners have achieved some certification at Level 4 or have relevant work/life experience.
