Course details
This course focuses on the growing popularity of eco-tourism. This type of tourism will investigate the concepts of “green” practices and eco-friendly travel. Issues regarding sustainability, environmental awareness and heritage preservation will be emphasised.
Students supplement their studies with work experience in a relevant area. Field trips and guest speakers will be a part of this course.

Career Opportunities:
Students who successfully complete this course will be prepared for opportunities within eco-tourism companies, tour providers, tourism offices, adventure centres or resorts. Students may also wish to start their own business in this category.

Students can also further their studies in Year 2 - Management & Marketing in Tourism in the College.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent standard of education. Exemptions may be granted to mature students. All entry is subject to interview.
