Course details
This course explores the ways in which the tourism industry uses the internet to create a customised travel experience.It is designed to prepare students for a workplace environment which markets and sells holidays and tourism products online.
Students supplement their studies with work experience in a relevant area. Field trips and guest speakers will be a part of this course.
Awarding Body:
FETAC (QQI) Level 5 - Tourism with Business Award.
FETAC (QQI) Occupational First Aid - Workshop.
Career Opportunities:
Students can pursue careers in tourist boards, resorts, reservation offices, tour operations and travel package providers. Students may also wish to start their own business. Further Education:
Successful students can further their studies in Year 2 - Management & Marketing in Tourism in the College.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent standard of education. Exemptions may be granted to mature students. All entry is subject to interview.
