Course details
With more than 50,000 people directly employed by hotels and guesthouses in Ireland, the hotel sector has a critical role in job creation and the recovery of the wider economy. The Irish Hotel Federation is concerned that the hotel and catering sector will in the immediate future face an acute shortage of skilled workers. Students on this course will learn practical and technical skills which will allow them pursue some of the many career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
Learners who successfully complete a QQI Level 5 Certificate may be able to use their results to progress to related Level 7 and Level 8 Degree Programmes in Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology. Third level progression opportunities for QQI learners are continually being developed and enhanced.
