Course details
The course includes an introduction to the structure, lexis and phonology of the English language, as well as one-to-one teaching, needs analysis and deciding on objectives for lessons. These are the areas which previous initial trainees have found most difficult and would give a helpful foundation to anyone thinking of going on to take a full TESOL certificate.
The course can also 'stand alone' in its own right for many aspects of dealing with non native English speakers, as it provides valuable information, skills & experience for those thinkging of eventually:
- being part of an Online English team
- offering leisure activiites to non native English speakers, hosting students
- offering 'Home English Language Programmes'(live and learn in a teacher's home)
- If you have already done a TEFL/TESOL course and need to refresh your knowledge, regain confidence and gain practice.
- Employing, working with, in relationships with non native English speakers
as it provides all participants with an awareness of what their non-native speaker clients need, want and already know.
Atlantic S.E..A.L. will offer 'post course' support and many opportunities to observe lessons and continue to develop their awareness, knowledge & skills.
