Learn to give your K12 students the skills they need to conduct themselves safely and ethically as they learn, create, and share on the Internet.

This course is designed for K12 teachers who wish to start teaching digital citizenship as part of any discipline.

Through lectures, activities and collaboration, participants will build an implementation plan for including digital citizenship as part of one of their existing lesson plans.

In this course you will learn about:

  • themes of digital citizenship.
  • copyright and fair use.
  • creating and reviewing digital citizenship policies.
  • enforcing digital citizenship policies.
  • teaching digital citizenship

At the end of the course participants are also offered the opportunity to complete a project that will allow them to effectively include digital citizenship components into one of their existing lesson plans.

Throughout this course participants will learn about the concepts while allows acquiring a tool set they can use in their own classroom and also be able to connect with other teachers attempting to implement their digital citizenship components in their own classroom.

Completion of this course will take 4-6 hours depending on how much time participants spend on the collaboration and project activities. We hope that during the course you'll be able to connect with other course participants and spend time bouncing ideas off others.
