Course details

Relevant skills which are required in the delivery of Facilities Services include:

Securing Premesis Setting up rooms for events Assisting with cleaning Site emergency and evacuation procedures Porterage Carrying out minor maintenance repairs, Reading energy meters and using the intelligent BMS to control heating and ventilation. Understanding Sustainability and Environmental Issues Working with Customers. Understanding Health and Safety Requirements.

Entry Requirements: 

There are no minimum requirements and formal qualifications are not necessary. However, some duties may involve working at heights, working in enclosed spaces and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Course Delivery: 

The qualification assesses competence in work situations via the City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services. To attain the level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services you will need to gain 20 credits. This consists of 3 mandatory units (11 credits) and additional optional units to minimum of 9 credits.

The knowledge qualification that demonstrates an appropriate level of understanding about the area of work is completed via the Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services Principles.

To attain the level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services Principles you will need to gain a minimum of 13 credits. This consists of 4 mandatory units you must complete.

Level 2 Essential Skills Wales - required standards in Communication and Application of Number.

Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) -awareness of the rights and responsibilities that are essential in the workplace.

The Foundation Apprenticeships in Facilities Management are delivered in a variety of styles to suit the needs of the learner and the employer. Delivery styles include: Face to face taught sessions, distance learning, and online e-learning.

The Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services can help you progress to a range of further facilities management qualifications including:

Level 3 Certificate in Facilities Management Practice Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management Practice Progression to team leader, supervisor roles First Line Management qualifications at Level 3 Lateral move to a Foundation level Building Services framework Possible progression to a Building Services Apprenticeship (subject to relevant work experience).
