Course details
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a reliable approach that any of us can learn, in order to cope better with difficult emotions e.g. stress, anxiety, fear, anger and low mood. This workshop demonstrates how our thoughts, our emotions, our behaviours and our physical reactions all interact together. CBT helps us to understand and change our habitual thoughts and behaviours which can be very beneficial when it comes to dealing with the ongoing stresses and challenges of life.
Our thoughts strongly influence our emotions, behaviours, and physiology, therefore any unhelpful, unrealistic or negative thoughts can be a major source of distress, which manifests in our body landscape in many form such as panic attack, tension, pain, illness. CBT is based on the idea that how we think, act, and feel and what goes on in our bodies all interact together. Our sensory-motor systems continually respond to daily stresses and traumas with specific muscular reflexes – triggering unconscious innate responses such as fight/flight/freeze, inherent in all human beings. CBT helps you discover the thought patterns that trigger fight/flight/ response and gives you the tools to regain internal balance.
