Strumming Simplified is a comprehensive course that encompasses all the elements every guitar student needs to become a great rhythm guitarist. Whether you are an absolute beginner, or have been playing for years and don't quite feel you have a good grasp on strumming, changing chords, or getting all the way through a song from top to bottom, Strumming Simplified is an express route to being able to play your favorite songs confidently.

There are four independent components, more than 6 hours of instructional video to this all-inclusive course:

Strumming Simplified Volume I: This is not just the starting point for beginners, but the place where everyone looking to improve their sound and techniques should start. We talk about holding a pick, holding the guitar, hand positions, strumming with your fingers, basic strumming motion, and offer tips on changing chords smoothly. This is followed with essential strumming principles, then a breakdown of the four main strumming patterns The Rock Pattern, The Folk Pattern, The Ballad Pattern, and The Country Pattern.

Strumming Simplified Volume II: The course continues with Strumming Principles explored more in depth, combining patterns into two-measure combinations, syncopated combinations, emphasizing certain strings or sets of strings (Focused Strumming), changing chords on off-beats (Syncopated Changes), and adding percussive effects to your strumming. We also go into Power Chords, hitting bass notes accurately, playing in unusual time signatures, and double-time strumming (16th notes).

A Chord Companion and Practice Partner: These components are reference resources that fill in the blanks that many guitar students have. A Chord Companion explains and demonstrates all the common chords used in modern music. This covers open chords and explains the families of barre chords, giving you the ability to find every chord you are likely to need. The Practice Partner videos include Neil playing through various exercises in all the keys commonly used on the guitar. He is essentially your practice partner with these play-along videos.
