    Course details

    The research activity of the discipline covers a range of topics in both Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, with particular emphasis on dynamical systems, numerical methods, quantum computation, conformal field theory, modelling and mathematics of biology. Members of the discipline are involved in joint projects with other disciplines and research units within the University, such as the Stokes Cluster for Applied Mathematics, the Complex Systems Research Centre, the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science, or the Biomechanics Research Centre.

    Entry requirements

    To be eligible to enter on a programme of study and research for the degree of PhD you must have reached a high honours standard at the examination for the primary degree or presented such evidence as will satisfy the Head of School and the College of your fitness.
