Course details
Research and teaching programmes in Science and Engineering at NUI Galway are integral to the six key enabling technologies (KETs) recently identified for the re-industrialisation of Europe. These include photonics, nanotechnology, advanced materials, micro- and nano-electronics, industrial biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. The intensive structured M.Sc. by research will provide students with advanced training in selected aspects of these technologies.
Entry requirements
Students with a 2.1 honours degree, or higher, in Science or Engineering (level 8) will be considered for this programme. Students with a 2.1 grade from year 3 of the BSc or BEng programme at NUI Galway will be given a provisional offer of a place on the programme. Students from other Universities with similar grades in similar Science or Engineering disciplines will be given a provisional offer also. There will be a proposed quota of 10 students and a limit of 15 students in 2015/6.
