This course is designed for non-dancers with two left feet who really want to become the best that they can be at the lowest cost. It focuses on fundamental, foundation work and choreography training.
One of the most important differences between social class and SFDF class is that SFDF class allows the teacher to correct the students in greater detail. As for a social class, they prefer a more entertaining environment.
With training between 6 to 18 hours a week, this program is for the those who like to perform and train under proper guidance. The students in this course get direct attention from the instructors, who will assess each student's standard and plan their classes based on his level and interest.
Learning at a group level, students attend various types of accelerated and correlated dance classes. The course is modular based and is suited for all levels of students.
Even though this course is suitable for anyone between the age of 7 to 80 years old, it is specially designed for working adult who are non-dancers with two left feet and have a very busy work schedule or they need to travel very often.
Course learning outcome(s)
The SFDF Dance Foundation course is a 6-month program consisting of 18 compulsory modules; all of which are geared towards introducing the students to the basic techniques of dance of various genres that are crucial in the current era.
Focus areas are:
Basic dance techniques & fundamentals
Introduction to Showmanship and stage presence
Exposure to various types of dances
Course entry requirement(s)
Can converse in and understand one of the following languages: English, Mandarin, Malay or Tamil.
Course schedule with modules and/or subjects
18 modules (each module is once a week, for 6 months. On average, a student takes classes 5 6 days a week, 3 5 hrs each.)
