Course Outline
This part time programme, run in partnership with the National Youth Council of Ireland, takes place over one academic year, starting in September 2015 and finishing in May 2016, with 15 contact teaching days (5 blocks of 3 days) in Dublin. The course aims to provide students with a professional education and training in the principles and practice of health promotion. Students take a generic module - Foundations of Health Promotion, a specialist youth health module – which includes content on young people and health behaviour, and the settings approach to health promotion. A practical project is the final component which involves the development of an organisational health promotion strategy.
Requirements And Assessment
Assessment includes 3 academic essays, a learning journal, and a group work assignment.
