Course details

An ‘under the bonnet’ style class, you will gain practical skills of how to approach Social Media for Business.

Class sizes are restricted to ten, meaning everyone gets individual attention and hands on practical experience.

Classes will take place in a dedicated computer room.

Ideally this course is for individuals, business owners, SME’s, HR and or Marketing Personnel working in digital marketing.

Email marketing

Here you will look at the fundamentals of email marketing and the different tools currently available, to help you reach your target audience. You will also learn how to design, set up and build an e-campaign.

Facebook

In this section you will cover the basics including the current Facebook landscape, pages and profiles. You will also cover privacy controls, the management panel including business best practice, tips and Facebook ads.

Twitter

Here, using your own Twitter account/profile you will be given certain tasks to complete; such as following certain hashtags, engaging in conversation, connecting with each other and much more. You will also cover setting up, monitoring, managing the performance of Twitter ads.

Linkedin

After setting yourself up with a Linkedin profile, you will be given tasks such as completing your profile, connecting with fellow students and former work colleagues. You will also look at company pages, joining and participating in groups. You will also cover setting up, monitoring, managing the performance of Linkedin ads

Pinterest

Here you will look at what exactly Pinterest is and its relevance to your business. In this part of the course you will look at the business benefits, best practice and tips for Pinterest.

Google Plus

In this section you will get an introduction to the Google Plus landscape and what a business page/profile look like. Part of this will concentrate on the privacy controls and management panel including integrating it with relevant local listings.

YouTube

Here you will be given an overview of the fundamentals of YouTube and how it can be used to promote your business. In this section participants will look at uploading content and increase traffic to their channel.

Managing your social media presence

In this section you will look at how to integrate and promote your entire media presence using hootesuite. You will also be given advice on best practice on how and when to schedule ‘posts’.
