Course Aim

To Prepare learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in community organisations and services for people with a range of different needs

Social studies (5N1370) Care support (5N0758) Community Addiction Studies (5N1834) Young People and Society (5N2002) Special Needs Assisting (5N1786) Understanding special Needs (5N1709) Word Processing (5N1358)

Entry Requirements:

Leaving Certificate / Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI/ FETAC Level 4. Mature students with relevant life or work experience. All candidates will be interviewed individually.

Work Experience:

Work Experience is a compulsory part of the course. Garda Vetting is required and will be organised through the college.

Certification:

QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community Care

Prospects:

Successful completion of the course will enable learners to seek employment in the social community care area or to take up further study at third Level through the Higher Education Links Scheme
