Through a series of lectures, demonstrations and individual projects, learners are introduced to specific processes in silversmithing, including a variety of forming and joining method.
Course Outline
- Introduction to silversmithing tools, equipment and techniques
- Practice specific metalworking and silversmithing processes, and acquire the ability to select correct processes for various jewellery design tasks
- Experiment with dye forming and Repousse on metal to create 3D forms
- Gain competency in opening and closing methods to create hinges and clasps on jewelry pieces
- Hands-on individual projects using silversmithing techniques
